I'm excited to hear Philly will stand behind a plan to lure Google to the region in hopes of being part of the ultra-high speed Google bandwidth project.

But if I didn't know any better the city is grasping at straws. During our first OneWebDay in Philly Allen Frank was standing behind the idea that Wireless Philadelphia with the right funding could be reutilized by the city. Wireless Philadelphia is an epic failure.

If Google doesn't come to town what then? I hope there is a Plan B. Will the likes of Verizon and Comcast lobby against a ultra bandwidth Google project as unfair competition much like they did when Wireless Philadelphia was a world wide news maker?

It goes without saying that I would love to see resources that give entrepreneurs a real reason to do business in this town.

Lets all keep our fingers crossed!
